We are introducing the 6 Pocket™ (6 POCKET) concept through the simultaneous deployment of a recreational league, amateur and professional associations, and a professional tour.
6 POCKET is a vision of the future billiards consisting of:
A New Billiards Game – A patent pending pocket billiards game, 6 POCKET eliminates the defensive “safety” shot and is the first ever game in billiards where you compete against a field rather than a competitor.
A New Way to Score – 6 POCKET’s patent pending scoring system is similar to that used in other individual sports like golf and bowling, and is the key to our ability to develop individual Level Play™ handicaps that are consistent throughout the billiards industry.
New Billiards Environment – With the 6 POCKET concept and our new scoring and handicapping method (patent pending), 6PI provides a canvas for achieving an unprecedented social acceptance of billiards as a legitimate sport unencumbered by social stigmas; and for identifying and ranking the best amateur and professional billiards players in the world.
Because 6 POCKET provides no reward for the defensive “safety” shot – it ushers in a completely new way to compete and score. More specifically, each player now competes against a field rather than another individual.
One result is that there is no need for the formation or organization of teams at the league level. Equally importantly, “premature elimination” of any player(s) in a given competition is avoided because everyone gets the same number of turns.
While eliminating the need for teams at the recreational league level allows for new flexibility in organizing league competitions; playing against a field rather than an individual allows for several new formats of competition at both amateur and professional 6 POCKET events.
Last, but not least, the inherent fairness of the 6 POCKET scoring method allows for the first ever purely numerical billiards handicapping system - Level Play™ - and fosters an “every shot is sudden death” excitement level during tie breakers and play-offs.
